Ever Tried Winking In The Dark

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

By Larry Galler Trying to do business without marketing is analogous to a lovestruck young man trying to attract a woman by winking at her in the dark. The young man knows what he is doing, but the she isnt even aware of his existence let alone being attracted to him. Its the same thing of all those businesses that describe themselves as the best kept secret or those who, for some reason, think they have built the better mousetrap and are waiting for the world to beat a path to their door they are all winking in the dark. The road to success starts by shining a bright light upon your winking eye so your targeted audience can take notice. You have to tell them about your product or service in a convincing, compelling, and appropriate manner. You have to use the media your audience sees. You have to transmit your message loud and clear. You have to say it with consistency the same message every time. Most importantly you have to say if often one wink is just not enough to become noticed. Good marketing is all about turning on the lights, getting in the spotlight, and winking like crazy. It is about creating that convincing, compelling, appropriate message, honing it until it is memorable and repeatable. It is about finding and selecting appropriate media that speaks to your audience of prospects. It is about helping your staff understand that message, exhibit that message (if you say you are the store with a smile they have to be smiling!), and communicate that message with every possible contact. Good marketing is about repeating that message over and over. It is about reinforcing that message at every opportunity and driving it into the memory bank of your customers and prospects so, when they think of their need for your products or services, they will only see your message bathed in the brilliance of that spotlight in their memory. They won’t be aware of all the best kept secrets and those who are winking in the dark. They will only have eyes for you! 5 Most Common Signs Of A Cheating Husband!

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

By Munyaradzi Chinongoza Are there any true signs of a cheating husband? Wait, before I answer that question, let’s just refer to Newton’s law of physics for a while here. It clearly, states that for every action, there is an opposite reaction. For every cheating husband there are definite signs of his cheating behaviour. The problem is many woman tend to ignore these signs, and sometimes even blame themselves for their husband’s sudden weird behaviour. Oprah Winfrey, the queen of daytime talk shows has said so many times on her show that if you feel something is wrong, then something is most likely wrong. Always, go with your gut feeling. What is the worst thing that could happen if you are wrong? It is better to know the truth, and take the required actions, than to pretend nothing is wrong. For those ladies, that need to know the sign of a cheating husband, here you go. These are some of the most common signs: 1. In most cases, the first signs of a cheating husband are usually the sudden onset of working overtime. Not only that but you may also start to hear of emergency meetings, sometimes at weird times of the day like late at night. The funny thing is that all that overtime never seems to show up on his pay check at the end of the month. 2. Yet another thing to watch out for is sometimes right at the beginning of an affair, due to the onset of guilt feelings the husband may actually start to be more affectionate than he usually is, especially if you had been going through a dry spell, as far as your intimate life is concerned. 3. Also, the cheating husband’s relationship with his family almost always changes. You may find that he starts to become more distant, cold, or fault-finding. For example, he may start to blame his family, especially the wife, for his strange behaviour. 4. Grooming habits change. If your husband is cheating, might just suddenly start to become more attentive to his personal appearance. Simple things like may buying new clothes and underwear, bathing, more careful grooming, a new cologne, a new exercise program, etc. Be careful, especially if this change comes about without you mentioning anything bad about his appearance. 5. Last, but definitely not least, another tell tale sign of a cheating husband is when your husband stops communicating with you and tends to pick fights instead which often end up with him stomping out of the house and making it a point to declare that you are just too difficult and impossible. In such cases, all he will be doing is, trying to unload the guilt to you instead or trying to justify to himself why he had strayed and is cheating on you. It’s like he is saying it is your fault he is cheating. There is always the obvious signs of a cheating husband, like lipstick stains on his shirts, smell of female perfume that does not belong to you and sometimes you may see female stuff in his bag such as nail polish, sunscreen and so on. If you even suspect your husband of cheating, act on that suspicion, investigate, be nosy you have every right to be, he’s your husband. What I’ve Learned About Internet Marketing From Watching TV (#1)

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

By Kenneth Doyle There are principles of marketing, and there are marketing strategies. The principles of marketing have never changed. However, marketing strategies change all the time to reflect the marketing medium in which they’re being used… and the products and services the marketers are selling. One core marketing principle is to arouse curiosity within the target market by using a benefit laden “Preview” (or teaser) technique. There is a LOT one can learn about marketing on the Internet - and the use of this curiosity/ teaser technique - by watching TV. How does one do this? Watch TV sports shows. These TV sports shows clearly demonstrate this time perfected, well established (preview/ teaser) technique which has been used in marketing for decades. Other versions of this technique were/ are used in radio The technique is also used regularly by TV news programs, soap operas, and (in a different way) with newsprint. This technique is called the PREview (or teaser) ‘technique’. Take a sports show for example. Before the show the station will run clips which “preview” what’s coming up in the sports show. When the sports show starts the hosts will “preview” what’s going to happen during the show. This technique is used again during the show (usually before the commercials) to preview what is coming up after the commercial (to keep the viewer watching the program). The preview/ teaser technique will be used again at the end of the show to tell the viewer what’s going to happen in the next show. This time it’s used to get them to come back to the next show, or it’s used as an end-of-program preview to direct the viewer to another (theme related) TV show on the same network. So, how can you use this preview/ teaser technique with your own Internet marketing campaigns? The primary way to use this technique is by using articles. These can be articles you use in your own ezine, blog or articles which you write and then submit to article directories (for exposure across the net). Here’s how you structure your article using this tried and tested preview/ teaser technique. Preview 1: Your article headline needs to be intriguing and contain a benefit for the reader (so they’ll open the article and read it). Preview 2: Tell your readers (up front) what you’re going to tell them. Again, this ‘preview’ needs to be benefit laden, so people read the entire article. Preview 3: Within the body of your article (if you’re using it in an ezine and running sponsored ads) refer to the benefit which is coming up (after the ad). Again you want to keep your reader ‘on the page’. Preview 4: This can be your sig (resource) file. Again, refer to an ‘additional’ benefit (for the reader) when they click on the link in your resource file. People have read your article and you want to keep them within your ’sphere of influence’ as long as possible. The interesting thing about this “preview” technique is that the same technique works exceptionally well when one is lecturing on a topic. In this case a 3 step format is used, being… 1. Tell them what you’re going to tell them (in your lecture), 2. Tell them (about the topic), 3, Tell them what you’ve just told them (in your lecture). Perhaps this “preview” technique is not so much an invention of marketing but more so an aspect of Human neurology (because the attention span of an average individual is about 20 minutes). Whatever the reason, this “preview” technique works!
